Hyaluronic Acid (HA), also known as Hyaluronan, is an acidic mucopolysaccharide composed of D-glucuronic disaccharide unit and N-acetylglucosamine.
BENEFITS
- It is one of the most potent and coveted humectants and is used by the skincare and pharmaceutical industries.
- Its affinity to attract astronomical amounts of water from the air into the skin makes it ideal for use in moisturizers, lotions, serums, etc. for treating dehydrated skin.
- It further binds water into the collagen and locks it into the skin hence providing hydration to dehydrated skin.
Our Hyaluronic Acid at deoorganic, with a high molecular weight quickly replenish moisture and nutrition for skin.
Hyaluronic acid also helps reduce and prevent age spots and pigmentation issues. But it cannot do it on it’s own. When looking to treat dark spots, a vitamin c product should be paired with hyaluronic acid.
By promoting proper moisture balance in the skin, hyaluronic acid prevents the over-production of oil that clogs pores and causes breakouts.
USAGE RRATE: 0.1%-2% of HA (equals 1g of HA in 100 ML water)
- SOLUBILITY- is readily soluble in water.
HOW TO DISSOLVE
- Heat the water phase until they reach 70oC.
- As it cools down add hyaluronic acid powder and stir until it dissolves completely.
- Stir continuously with moderate agitation for 3 minutes until the mixture homogenizes.
HA needs to be carefully sprinkled into the water under constant high-speed stirring (preferably with a hand mixer or vortex mixer). The mixture starts to thicken quickly and becomes a gel.
At that point no additional HA can be added as there is no water left for HA to be dissolved in. Any further addition of HA would only form lump.
NOTE:
LMW do not thicken as well as HMW
