Formic Acid is a colorless liquid used as a preservative and antibacterial agent, it is also useful in the manufacturing of leather and rubber and as a miticide by beekeepers.
In cosmetics and personal care products, Formic Acid is used in the formulation of face, neck, and other skin care products
Also used in foot powders sprays, and hair care products.
USAGE :
Formic Acid is expected to be used at low concentrations and neutralized into various format salts
The maximum concentration allowed in ready-to-use cosmetic preparations is 0.5% (in acid).

Formic Acid and its sodium salt are listed as preservatives in the Cosmetics Directive of the European Union.
WARNING: No direct contact with the skin. Acidic in nature. Should incase of direct contact with the skin, use baking soda ad water to neutralize.
